Teeth of the Constitution

"A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

The Second Amendment is arguably the most important: it is the "teeth" of our Constitution.

As Thomas Jefferson said, "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

Protect Firearms Industry from Frivolous Lawsuits...Call Your Reps!

This from my latest Gun Owners of America newsletter:

Two new bills, S.397 and H.R.800 have been introduced to put an end to frivolous lawsuits brought against the firearms industry by the anti-gun lobby and unscrupulous lawyers. These bills do not give the industry immunity from lawsuits if the product is defective as the anti-gun lobby would have you believe.

Please contact your representatives and urge them to vote in favor of these bills, without any "killer"anti-Second Amendment amendments.

Remember, even if you don't own any firearms, it isn't just about guns - it is about a minority of Americans trying to change our Constitution through legislation. There is a way to change the Constitution, and it isn't by passing law after law until the amendment in question if effectively null and void.

And remember, in addition to the attack on the Second Amendment, the First has also come under attack in a similar way thanks to our own Senator Russ Feingold and his so-called Campaign Finance Reform.

Call you Senators and Representatives today. Thanks.
